The history of Agios Athanasios started in the Bronze Age.
It was a small rural community between the early and mid-21st century.
The population was around 400 residents but since the Turkish invasion of 1974, the population has more than doubled. Agios Athanasios combines the benefits of the village and the comforts of a modern city. Today, the municipality is economical and industrial developed, with large, imposing buildings, hotels,
amenities, services, and in the coastal area there are many tourist apartments
and businesses. Agios Athanasios is one of the most visitable areas in Limassol
with high interest from entre in startup and known companies and easy access to the highway.
